EU backs supplies of cluster munitions to Ukraine

Ammunition deliveries are "a matter between the countries supplying the ammunition and Ukraine".

The EU "generally supports" the supply of ammunition to Ukraine for self-defence purposes, Kommersant reports, citing Nabila Massrali, a representative of the European Union's foreign policy service.

According to her, the choice of specific ammunition to be supplied is at the discretion of the United States and Ukraine.

To recall, the USA announced on 7 July that it had decided to supply Ukraine with cluster munitions.
