Eco-activists protest in heart of Rome
Eco-activists from the Extinction Rebellion movement staged a protest in central Rome, near the Ministry of the Interior building, dumping manure and setting up tents.
The action began around 11:00 AM local time (14:00 Baku time), with approximately one hundred activists taking part in the event, Caliber.Az reports per Italian media.
They overturned a truckload of manure onto the sidewalk near the ministry and proceeded to set up several tents. The protesters, both men and women, shouted slogans advocating for environmental protection and the creation of sufficient job opportunities.
Police arrived at the scene of the protest, where the activists were taken to a nearby police station for identification. The protest in the heart of the European capital highlights the climate movement's ongoing efforts to raise awareness of environmental issues and demand immediate action from governments.
