French leader supports Middle Corridor development
French President Emmanuel Macron has supported the initiative of his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to promote the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).
“We see your commitment to the development of the logistics corridor. The full-scale war in Ukraine has posed a great challenge to logistics in supply chains. I welcome your determination in this regard, your desire to develop and promote the Middle Corridor. This also corresponds to our intentions, and we hope that the regional countries will render support,” Tengrinews.kz reports citing the French leader’s statement.
The French president added that Kazakhstan plays a very important strategic role in logistics.
“You correctly emphasised the importance of our economic relations in agriculture, energy, and renewable energy. We will be able as part of a joint agenda to manage these projects, current projects and new projects that will be developed within the strategic partnership, as well as through cross-investments. We discussed a lot of sensitive issues regarding energy, pharmaceutical companies, and many agricultural projects,” President Macron noted.
