Minibus crash leaves 1 dead, 23 injured in Türkiye
Tragedy struck on the Karabük-Kastamonu highway in northern Türkiye as a minibus transporting attendees to a funeral in Sinop overturned, claiming one life and leaving 23 others injured.
The vehicle, which had departed from Istanbul, lost control and overturned near Nalcıkuyucağı village. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and the identity of the driver remains unconfirmed, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Emergency responders, including medical teams, gendarmerie, AFAD, and UMKE units, were quickly dispatched to the scene after the accident was reported by witnesses. The injured passengers were transported to various hospitals in the area for treatment.
One of the injured, identified as Hasan Çiftçibaşı, succumbed to his injuries despite extensive efforts at Kastamonu Research and Training Hospital.
Authorities have launched a detailed inquiry into the incident to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
