Georgian PM vows peaceful restoration of country’s territorial integrity
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has said that the government remains committed to "a peaceful way of restoring the territorial integrity and unification of the country."
He made the remarks on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities in South Ossetia, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Georgian media.
He stated that in August 2008 "Russian military aggression resulted in massive human casualties" as well as "temporary occupation of our territories, which remains a serious challenge to the country's sovereignty and development."
“We are driven by an unshakable belief that a peaceful, united, strong, developed Georgia is the best prospect for Georgians, Ossetians, Abkhazians, all people living on our land, and we are doing everything to make this goal a reality as soon as possible,” - Garibashvili wrote on Facebook.
