Ukraine seeks technology transfer for German Taurus missiles
Ruslan Gorbenko, a Verkhovna Rada member of the ruling Servant of the People party, has called on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to transfer the technology for producing Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
In an interview with Ukrainian TV presenter Lana Shevchuk on her YouTube channel, Gorbenko expressed frustration over Germany's refusal to supply the missiles to Ukraine, citing concerns over escalating the conflict, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
The German government has withheld the transfer of the Taurus missiles, a decision linked to fears of further intensifying the war.
"I have one question for Mr. Scholz: if you can't give us the Taurus, give us the technology, and we will produce these Taurus ourselves," Gorbenko stated.
The Taurus KEPD 350/150 is a German-Swedish air-to-surface cruise missile with a range of over 500 kilometers.
Olaf Scholz has consistently opposed supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine's military, despite growing pressure from other officials within the Federal Republic of Germany.
