Georgian premier frames October polls as referendum on war & peace
The 26 October parliamentary elections in Georgia will be “a referendum between war and peace”.
“The elections are a kind of referendum between war and peace, a referendum between propaganda and traditional values. In fact, the choice is simple. The choice should be made in favor of peace, morality, and a bright future for the country,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s remarks for reporters.
The parliamentary elections will be held in Georgia on 26 October. Leaders of the ruling Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party assure that its rating is about 60 percent, while many opposition parties will not be able to pass the five percent threshold to enter parliament. Some small opposition parties have already announced before the elections that they will merge with larger parties - Lelo, For Georgia, and Nova - which could help them get into parliament.
