Hungary condemns Ukrainian attack on Kursk
Chief of Staff of the Hungarian prime minister Gergely Gulyás has condemned the recent Ukrainian military attack on the Kursk region and opposes the expansion of the conflict zone.
"We are calling for a ceasefire and peace," Gulyás emphasised, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
He criticised any actions that contradict conflict resolution efforts, including the extension of hostilities into Russian territory, as "incorrect".
Earlier, Political Director of the Hungarian prime minister Balázs Orbán commented on the Ukrainian attack on Kursk by stating that "the world must wake up" and actively support conflict resolution efforts. The large-scale assault by Ukrainian forces on the Kursk region began on August 6. The area is under federal emergency status, and repeated alerts for missile threats have been issued. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, over 122,000 people have been evacuated from nine border districts. Temporary shelters have been established in 28 districts for residents displaced from Kursk.
