Israeli army hits Beirut in new offensive against Hezbollah VIDEO
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have initiated a new series of attacks targeting Hezbollah facilities in Lebanon, according to an official announcement from the military.
In a statement, the IDF announced the new strike on Beirut reaffirming its commitment to dismantling Hezbollah's capabilities and terrorist infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports.
On the morning of September 23, Israeli airstrikes began hitting settlements in southern and eastern Lebanon, with the military later confirming the launch of a preemptive offensive aimed at Hezbollah's military assets, including attacks on targets in Beirut.
In retaliation, Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets into northern Israel, claiming to have struck key sites such as Ramat David Air Force Base and Megiddo Airport. The group asserted that these actions were necessary to defend Lebanon and its citizens.
The toll from the ongoing airstrikes has risen sharply, with reports indicating that 558 people have been killed and another 1,835 injured, including 50 children and 94 women. Tragically, four ambulance workers lost their lives when their vehicles were struck in the attacks.
Amid escalating hostilities, Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut reported the cancellation of over 40 flights, with international airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Etihad Airways affected by the turmoil.
