Hillhouse Investment opens Abu Dhabi office amid Iran conflict
Global investment management firm Hillhouse Investment Management announced on April 2 the opening of a new office in Abu Dhabi’s financial district. It is among the first companies to establish a presence in the city since the outbreak of war in Iran, Reuters reports.
The conflict, which began on February 28 following coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, has disrupted travel and business across the region. Tehran has retaliated with attacks on Gulf countries, forcing several companies to temporarily close offices.
In recent years, the UAE has become increasingly attractive to firms and wealthy individuals due to its tax-free environment and business-friendly regulations.
Singapore-based Hillhouse, which manages over $100 billion in assets, is known for investments in hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and private lending.
