FT: Trump’s sons invest over $1 billion in AI, drone-focused funds
Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., sons of US President Donald Trump, are investing in funds linked to the American Ventures structure, which focuses on companies in emerging technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, and the cryptocurrency industry, Financial Times reports.
Sources said the funds are backed by the US administration and exceed $1 billion in total value.
According to the publication, the fund positions itself as supporting American technology leaders and reducing US dependence on foreign resources.
Over the past 10 months, the company has created dozens of investment vehicles, directing capital into small and privately held firms, including projects in drones, cryptocurrencies, and AI.
Documents filed with US regulators in early April show that American Ventures manages about $1.04 billion in assets across 21 funds, ranging from nuclear energy startups to crypto-lending services and consumer companies.
Representatives for Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. said the two act solely as passive investors and are not involved in the operational management of the funds.
