Kyrgyzstan launches 61 industrial enterprises in major production push PHOTO

12 September 2026 12:54

Kyrgyzstan has launched 61 industrial enterprises in a coordinated rollout aimed at expanding domestic processing, creating jobs and strengthening the country’s export potential.

President Sadyr Japarov attended the opening of a bean-processing plant in the Bakai-Ata district, one of the facilities launched as part of the nationwide initiative.

The plant represents an investment of 200 million soms (about $2.287 million) and has an annual processing capacity of up to 40,000 tonnes.

Japarov said the facility would allow crops grown by farmers in the Talas region to be processed domestically rather than primarily exported as raw materials.

Another 60 facilities were commissioned online, including enterprises producing construction materials and processing agricultural products.

The government plans to open about 50 more facilities by the end of the year. According to Japarov, the expansion of industrial production will help create jobs, increase the range of domestically produced goods and strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s export potential.
