Axios: Israel-Lebanon talks in Rome postponed until October

The next round of Israel-Lebanon talks, originally scheduled to take place in Rome next week, has been postponed, a U.S. official told Axios Global Affairs Correspondent Barak Ravid.

Instead, the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors will meet at the U.S. State Department in Washington to discuss recent developments and the continued implementation of a framework agreement between the two countries.

The next round of formal negotiations is now expected to take place in Rome in October, the U.S. official said.

According to a source familiar with the talks, several factors contributed to the postponement, including Jewish holidays, a Paris conference in support of the Lebanese Armed Forces and preparations for the UN General Assembly.
