Xi Jinping arrives in India for 18th BRICS summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in India on September 12 to attend the 18th BRICS Summit.

Xi is accompanied by Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Chinese media reports.

During the visit, Xi is expected to take part in summit meetings and deliver a speech, while discussing international developments, the future of the BRICS grouping and ways to expand practical cooperation among member states.

According to China’s Foreign Ministry, Xi will also present Beijing’s initiatives and proposals for strengthening cooperation within BRICS.
