Iran condemns Israeli airstrikes on Aleppo as violations of int’l law & Syrian sovereignty
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly denounced the recent Israeli airstrikes on Aleppo province in Syria, labeling them as blatant violations of international laws and Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Nasser Kan'ani condemned the attacks, which occurred overnight and resulted in the tragic loss of Syrian military personnel and civilians, Mehrnews reports.
Offering condolences to Syria's government and people, particularly the affected families, Kan'ani emphasized the gravity of these assaults, underlining their direct threat to regional and global peace and security.
He urged the international community and the United Nations Security Council to take decisive actions to hold the Israeli regime accountable for its aggression.
Highlighting the coordinated nature of these strikes with terrorist activities in Syria, Kan'ani asserted that they underscored Israel's support for terrorist groups operating in the region. This support, he argued, has long jeopardized both Syria's national security and regional stability.
Pointing to Israel's recent setbacks in Gaza, Kan'ani characterized the attacks on Syria as desperate attempts to deflect attention from its failures and to exacerbate regional crises. He stressed that countering such dangerous actions, which undermine the region's security and stability, is a shared responsibility at the international level.
