CSTO summit sees 14 documents signed amid Pashinyan's no-show
The leaders of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan signed 14 agreements during the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit held in Astana.
Among the signed documents was a decision by the CSTO Security Council aimed at further strengthening allied relations within the organization, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Additionally, the declaration of the CSTO Security Council and a targeted program to reinforce the Tajik-Afghan border were agreed upon.
The heads of state signed a statement of the CSTO Collective Security Council in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and approved a plan of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
Decisions on the budget and a number of other documents were signed.
It was decided that the next CSTO summit will be held in the fourth quarter of 2025 in Kyrgyzstan, which will take over the presidency of the organization on January 1, 2025.
Notably, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not attend the summit in Kazakhstan’s capital, marking a significant absence in the organization’s ongoing discussions.
