Türkiye may hold presidential elections in late 2027, minister says
Türkiye's presidential elections, originally scheduled for 2028, may be moved forward to late 2027, according to Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdülkadir Uraloğlu.
Speaking at the ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) Trabzon Provincial Advisory Council meeting, Uraloğlu said the presidential vote would be held in either 2027 or 2028, but expressed his belief that it would most likely take place in 2027, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
He also indicated confidence in Turkish President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s re-election, suggesting that preparations and expectations for the campaign were already underway.
Uraloğlu remarked that he was already envisioning the atmosphere of election night and emphasised the importance of unity within the party ahead of the upcoming vote.
