German foreign minister says Europe ready to talk to Putin

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has said European countries are ready to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the conflict in Ukraine if the Russian leader is genuinely prepared for such discussions.

In an interview with Bild, he noted that Berlin supports diplomatic initiatives that could help reduce tensions surrounding the conflict, Caliber.Az reports.

Among them, Wadephul specifically highlighted a possible ceasefire in the Black Sea.

In his words, agreements in this area could lead to an end to attacks on energy infrastructure.

“If he is seriously ready to talk about ending this war, then we will, of course, be ready to talk to him about it,” Wadephul stressed.
