Kazakhstan reports 22% rise in Middle Corridor freight traffic

Freight transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), known as the Middle Corridor, increased by 22% in the first eight months of 2026, while transit traffic in the East-West direction rose by 55%, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Transport Minister Zhanibek Taizhanov said.

Taizhanov made the remarks at the Georgian International Maritime Forum in Batumi, according to Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry.

The forum also addressed the digitalisation of transport corridors. Kazakhstan has proposed creating a digital map of routes that would display transport infrastructure, logistics chains and the movement of cargo.

The proposed system is intended to provide a comprehensive digital representation of the transport routes and cargo flows along the corridor.
