Russian official: Abu Dhabi could host renewed trilateral Ukraine peace talks

Abu Dhabi could once again host trilateral peace talks involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States if negotiations over the war in Ukraine resume, according to Yuri Ushakov, an adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Ushakov said Moscow and Washington had discussed the possibility of restarting contacts with Kyiv on a diplomatic settlement, including in a trilateral format. He suggested that Abu Dhabi could serve as the venue for such talks, having previously hosted negotiations between the parties, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

Ushakov also said he had not seen a concrete “roadmap” for a peace agreement. His comments came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he had not seen such a roadmap either.

The Russian official further claimed that US assistance to Ukraine, including military aid, had declined significantly under President Donald Trump compared with previous administrations. He said Washington could help accelerate an end to the conflict by stopping direct support for Kyiv.
