CSTO summit advocates for peaceful, stable Afghanistan

The member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have reaffirmed their commitment to the goal of establishing a peaceful Afghanistan, free from military conflict, terrorism, and drug trafficking.

In a statement issued by the CSTO Collective Security Council and published on the Kremlin's website, the organization voiced its support for the creation of a stable, independent, and unified Afghan state, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

The document emphasized the importance of achieving peace and security in the country, highlighting the need to address the ongoing threats of war, terrorism, and the drug trade.

"We stand in favor of establishing Afghanistan as a peaceful, independent, and united state, free from war, terrorism, and drugs," the declaration stated.

Additionally, the CSTO members underscored the significance of forming an inclusive government in Afghanistan, one that would represent all segments of the population and various ethnic groups. The declaration stressed that the establishment of such a government is critical for ensuring the long-term stability and prosperity of the nation.

"We note the importance of forming an inclusive authority in Afghanistan that will represent the interests of all segments of the population and ethnic groups as one of the key factors for ensuring a stable and prosperous Afghanistan," the CSTO Collective Security Council's statement added.
