Iran's president vows to respond to any Israeli attack
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has cautioned Israel to brace itself for Iran’s proportional reaction to any act of aggression.
On October 22, Pezeshkian visited the Hamas office in Tehran to express his condolences on the loss of Hamas politburo chairman Yahya Sinwar, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
Asked by reporters about the Israeli regime’s rhetoric of military action against Iran, the president underlined that Israel would be given a proportional response to any attack.
He also lashed out at the US and European governments for throwing their weight behind the Israeli regime in committing genocidal crimes against Palestine.
Notably, on October 1, Iran responded to the Israeli assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Secretary General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC general Abbas Nilforoushan by launching as many as 200 ballistic missiles toward the Israeli military and intelligence bases all over the occupied Palestinian territories.
Notably, since the Iranian strike, Israel has reportedly been engaged in intensive consultations with its key ally, the US, to determine potential targets and its defensive needs to counter any Iranian retaliation.
While Israel has threatened to retaliate, Iranian officials have warned that Tehran’s reciprocal response to any Israeli action will be harsh, proportional and well-calculated.
