Israel intercepts nearly all Iranian-fired missiles, drones
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesman Daniel Hagari has said that the IDF intercepted 99% of about 300 Iranian projectiles flying towards the Jewish state.
According to him, Iran launched 170 drones towards Israel, none of which reached Israel's borders, The Times of Israel reports, citing Israeli army.
They were shot down by the Israeli military together with its allies. In addition, Iran fired 30 cruise missiles at Israel, 25 of which the IDF managed to intercept.
Hagari also claimed that Iran hit Israel with 120 ballistic missiles. Some of them overcame Israel's missile defense system and reached the Nevatim airbase. According to the army spokesman, the base suffered minor damage.
Some of the drones and missiles were launched at Israel from Iraq and Yemen, but they did not penetrate the Jewish state's airspace, Hagari added.
Earlier, Iranian state media said the targets of the strikes on Israel were military targets.
