Poland launches coup investigation as Tusk mocks allegations with table tennis video VIDEO
Polish prosecutors have launched an investigation into an alleged coup attempt following a complaint filed by the president of the Constitutional Tribunal.
The move has been welcomed by opposition leader Jarosław Kaczyński, while Prime Minister Donald Tusk reacted by posting a video of himself on X playing table tennis, Caliber.Az reports via Polish media.

The complaint was lodged by Bogdan Święczkowski, head of the Constitutional Tribunal, who accused Tusk, government ministers, parliamentary leaders, ruling coalition lawmakers, the head of the Government Legislative Centre, certain judges and prosecutors, as well as "other individuals" of attempting a coup.
Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, said he "welcomed with satisfaction" the decision to investigate.
"I have repeatedly pointed to Article 127 of the Penal Code, as this is how the unlawful takeover of public media, the National Prosecutor’s Office, the obstruction of the Constitutional Tribunal and the National Council of the Judiciary, as well as a number of other blatant violations of the law and Constitution, should be classified," Kaczyński wrote on social media.
Tusk responded by sharing a video in which he is seen standing by a table tennis table. A voice off-camera says, "Listen, Kaczyński says you’ve staged a coup."
Raising his paddle, Tusk replies: "Give me a break, we have serious matters to deal with. We’ll get to that later," before hitting the ball. The clip ends with the prime minister laughing.
Asked about Tusk’s reaction at a press conference, Kaczyński criticized the prime minister’s approach.
"It turns out that the prime minister plays table tennis at work, and that is his main concern. Of course, we will make sure the public is informed about this in various ways, so I thank him for giving us the opportunity," Kaczyński said.
"But secondly, they were laughing, and this is really no laughing matter. I deeply hope that the time will come when these gentlemen stop laughing," he added.
