Israeli security agency reviews possible attack scenario on Eilat
The head of Israel’s internal security agency Shin Bet, David Zini, has instructed senior officials to prioritise a potential attack scenario targeting the southern city of Eilat during internal discussions, Haaretz reports.
He expressed his concerns over the city’s geographic isolation and vulnerability.
The outlet said within internal and external briefings, Zini warned of the risk of a possible ground incursion, including from the Jordanian border, and did not rule out threats from the maritime direction.
According to sources, he has directed intelligence units to further examine such scenarios.
However, security officials reportedly remain sceptical about the likelihood of such an attack, noting the absence of specific intelligence indicating active preparations.
