Iranian oil exports surge following easing of testrictions
Iran has exported approximately 36 million barrels of crude oil since June 15, with a similar volume still held in floating storage, according to maritime analytics firm TankerTrackers.com Inc.
The data suggests a rapid rebound in Iranian oil shipments following what analysts describe as a partial easing of restrictions on exports.
TankerTrackers also reported that roughly another 36 million barrels of crude remain stored in tankers within Iranian waters, indicating that a significant volume of supply could be ready for export should current diplomatic and geopolitical conditions remain stable.
The figures point to a sharp recovery compared with recent months, when Iran’s oil exports reportedly fell to their lowest levels in at least six years amid heightened maritime tensions and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
In May, Iran’s crude exports were estimated at between 209,000 and 260,000 barrels per day, well below pre-conflict and historical production levels.
