Russian MFA: Ukraine’s airspace warning is "point of no return"

Ukraine’s warning that Russian airspace is becoming unsafe for civil aviation represents an “absolute point of no return” for countries that continue to support Kyiv, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

“They have simply, literally cut off all opportunities for the countries that support it to distance themselves from this terrorism in the event of further financial support and support with weapons. All of this is an absolute point of no return,” Zakharova said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda radio.

Her remarks followed a September 1 statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said Russian airspace was “becoming completely unsafe” because of drone activity and would “de facto be closed.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin subsequently described Kyiv’s warning as a “bid for state terrorism.”
