Two injured after drone attack targets Russia’s Kubinka PHOTO / UPDATED

Two people were injured in the Moscow Region town of Kubinka as a result of a drone attack, Governor Andrey Vorobyov said on Telegram.

A 44-year-old man was in a passing car at the time of the incident when it was struck by drone debris. The second victim, a 22-year-old man who was working at a nearby construction site, sustained a shrapnel wound to his thigh.

Vorobyov added that residents evacuated from the apartment building on Naro-Fominsk Highway, which was hit by a drone earlier this morning, are currently staying at a temporary accommodation centre. The fire at the building has been completely extinguished.

The apartment building on Naro-Fominsk Highway in Kubinka, Moscow Region, Russia, that was damaged in a drone strike is located approximately 5 kilometres from the Kubinka airbase, according to an open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysis by ASTRA.

The building is located at 8 Naro-Fominsk Highway, with the Kubinka airbase situated about 4–5 kilometres away.

Earlier, Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed the attack on the region and said that a drone strike on the apartment building in Kubinka had sparked fires on the eighth and ninth floors, as well as on a balcony on the seventh floor. Ten people were evacuated from the building. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.

ASTRA also geolocated the damaged apartment building in Pavlovsky Posad.
