IRGC says two members of terrorist group killed in southeastern Iran

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said that two members of a terrorist group were killed during an operation in Sistan and Baluchistan Province in southeastern Iran.

According to the IRGC’s Quds Force, the operation was conducted jointly with IRGC intelligence units, the Intelligence Directorate and provincial police, Iranian media reports.

The Iranian authorities said the group had been planning attacks against predetermined targets in the province and was neutralised before it could carry out any operations.

The IRGC also claimed that the group had links to Israel and the United States and was preparing to conduct attacks in Sistan and Baluchistan. The allegations have not been independently verified.

The Quds Force described the safety of residents in the province as a “red line” and warned that it would take harsh measures against anyone attempting to infiltrate the region or conduct activities there.
