IAEA launches assessment mission of Uzbekistan’s national nuclear infrastructure PHOTO
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has launched another mission to conduct a comprehensive assessment of Uzbekistan’s national nuclear infrastructure (INIR).
The opening ceremony of the mission took place at the Uzatom agency and brought together representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, other interested organisations, and members of the media, Caliber.Az reports via Uzbek media.
During the event, Uzatom Director Azim Ahmedkhadzhaev said the assessment is of particular importance for the country’s nuclear development efforts.
“We view this as an important tool for open and professional dialogue, allowing us to objectively assess the work on developing the national nuclear infrastructure, compare the results with IAEA international standards, and determine next steps,” he said.
