China calls on Japan to completely sever ties with militarism
China’s Foreign Ministry has called on Japan to completely sever ties with militarism, warning that the country is on a “path of no return.”
Spokesperson Guo Jiakun strongly condemned Japan’s remilitarization and its historical actions during wartime, Caliber.Az reports, citing Chinese media.
At a regular press briefing, he said “Japanese invaders,” who allegedly carried out large-scale human experimentation and biological warfare, would “forever be nailed to the eternal pillar of shame.”
Guo referenced the 1949 Khabarovsk Trial, which he described as an extension of the Tokyo Trials, saying it produced extensive documentation, including audio records, transcripts, and physical evidence.
According to him, these materials constitute a complete evidentiary chain exposing the Japanese military’s use of biological warfare.
He added that such findings have helped raise awareness globally — including among the Japanese public — about what he described as a “dark and horror-filled” period of history.
Guo stressed that only by acknowledging historical facts, addressing unresolved issues, and committing to peace can the recurrence of war tragedies be prevented.
“We call on Japan to do serious soul-searching, make a clean break with militarism, and earn the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community with concrete actions,” Guo added.
