Israel strikes Iranian nuclear, weapons sites with 50 fighter jets VIDEO
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have said that over 50 Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out coordinated strikes on multiple sites in Iran on March 27, targeting facilities linked to Iran’s nuclear programme and weapons production.
According to the IDF, the strikes were guided by intelligence and focused on three areas, including the heavy water plant in Arak, a facility associated with plutonium production, and a site in Yazd involved in producing materials used in uranium enrichment, Caliber.Az reports.
The operation involved three waves of airstrikes over several hours. Sites targeted included:
- A military industry facility used for producing a range of weapons.
- An Iranian Ministry of Defence site involved in developing explosive devices, which the IDF said supplied weapons to groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
- A site producing components for ballistic missiles and anti-aircraft systems.
The IDF stated that the strikes aim to degrade Iran’s capabilities in both its nuclear and missile programmes. Officials emphasised that operations against Iranian military-industrial sites will continue to limit the regime’s long-term production capacities.
