Media: Italy plans to resume funding for UNRWA

Italy has decided to reinstate financial support for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as part of its aid package to Palestine, per TASS.

Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani announced the decision, stating that the government has approved a total of 35 million euros in financial assistance to the Palestinian population, with 5 million euros designated for UNRWA.

This move marks a reversal of Italy's previous suspension of funding earlier in the year, which was initiated amid allegations linking some UNRWA employees to Hamas. Italy joins several other countries in reinstating support for the organization.
