MFA: Azerbaijani Embassy in Lebanon remains operational

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Lebanon is actively continuing its operations, according to Aykhan Hajizada, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

He stated that there are only a few Azerbaijani citizens residing in Lebanon and emphasized that there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities among them due to the recent events, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in at least 492 casualties, as reported by Lebanon’s health ministry, marking the deadliest day of violence in nearly two decades. Thousands of families have been displaced from their homes as the Israeli military conducted strikes on approximately 1,600 Hezbollah targets, aiming to dismantle the infrastructure established by the group since the 2006 war.

In retaliation, Hezbollah has launched over 200 rockets into northern Israel, leading to reports of injuries from shrapnel among Israeli civilians.

As tensions escalate, world powers are urging both sides to exercise restraint to prevent the situation from escalating into an all-out war. The Lebanese health ministry has reported that among the deceased, there were 35 children and 58 women, while 1,645 others have sustained injuries.
