Italian defence minister touches down in Baku for key defence exhibition
At the invitation of Azerbaijani Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto arrived in Baku on September 24 to participate in the 5th Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX).
The Italian delegation was warmly welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Deputy Minister of Defence and Director General Agil Gurbanov, along with senior officials from the Ministry, Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
During his visit, Guido Crosetto is set to engage in discussions regarding the future of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy.
The 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX) is set to take place at the Baku Expo Center from September 24 to 26. Recognized as the largest defence industry event in the region, it coincides with the 14th International Exhibition for Internal Security, Safety, and Rescue Equipment (Securex Caspian), featuring participants from around the world.
This year, 14 countries will showcase their national pavilions, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Türkiye, and Ukraine. Notably, the number of exhibitors has surged by 32% since the last event in 2022.
ADEX has a longstanding reputation for drawing high-level delegations and prominent guests from various nations. In 2024, delegations from 27 countries, comprising over 300 representatives, are anticipated to attend. These delegations will include officials from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bahrain, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Georgia, Jordan, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Somalia, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Croatia, and Vietnam.
The exhibition is renowned for its emphasis on cutting-edge defence technology and continues to attract global interest while playing a crucial role in promoting international collaboration within the defence sector.
