Montenegro condemns Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine
The Montenegrin parliament has supported a resolution condemning Russia’s aggression and military intervention against Ukraine as an independent and internationally recognised country.
The decision was supported by 55 members of the parliament (MP), while 18 voted against the document, RBC-Ukraine reports referring to Montenegro’s Pobjeda online newspaper and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
According to the resolution, the parliament calls on the Russian authorities to immediately stop hostilities and an act of aggression that directly undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, destroys military and civilian facilities, and endangers the lives of millions of people, mainly civilians.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called the adoption of the resolution another powerful gesture of Montenegro’s highly valuable support.
