Moscow says Qatar may be involved in Russian grain supplies to Africa
The issue of Qatar's participation, including financially, in the deal with Russia and Türkiye to supply 1 million tonnes of Russian grain to African countries is under discussion.
Russian President's special representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov made the statement while talking to TASS.
"Of course, of course, it is being discussed. But this is a subject of negotiations and contacts," he said when asked about Qatar's role in the deal, including its financing.
According to Bogdanov, Moscow is in contact with Ankara and Doha on the implementation of the deal.
"Contacts [with Qatar and Türkiye] are ongoing. As soon as there is clarity, we will inform you immediately," the senior diplomat pointed out.
"There are talks going on now between the relevant agencies and people, so you will find out," the deputy minister added.
