Musk criticizes US media for promoting Democratic Party's agenda
Elon Musk has openly accused the US media of operating as a propaganda machine for the Democratic Party, further intensifying his ongoing criticism of traditional news outlets.
The billionaire entrepreneur expressed his opinion on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that the media disproportionately favours Democrats in its coverage, Caliber.Az reports citing foreign media.
"This explains why the media is a propaganda machine for the Democratic Party," Musk wrote in response to a user’s post that cited a 2022 statistic. According to the post, 36.4% of journalists in the US identified as supporters of the Democratic Party, while only 3.4% aligned themselves with the Republican Party.
Musk's accusations reflect his broader scepticism towards mainstream media, which he has often condemned for bias. He previously described major news outlets as unreliable and accused them of misinforming the public. Musk specifically targeted the Associated Press, calling it an "extreme left-wing propaganda machine," and took aim at The New York Times, claiming the publication was attacking freedom of speech.
These remarks highlight Musk’s ongoing feud with traditional media, as he has frequently positioned himself as an advocate for transparency and free speech on social media platforms.
