President Aliyev emphasizes unparalleled nature of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations on world stage PHOTO
On February 13, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Birol Akgün, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Akgün conveyed the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to President Aliyev, who, in turn, expressed his gratitude and requested that his warm regards be relayed to the Turkish leader.
President Aliyev underscored that Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are unparalleled, even when compared to the closest alliances globally. He highlighted that the ties between the two nations, which have evolved into a strategic alliance, are also strengthening through trilateral platforms. In this regard, he emphasized the significance of trilateral cooperation mechanisms involving Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, as well as Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan.
The discussion also touched upon the successful partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye within international organizations. President Aliyev reiterated Azerbaijan's accession to the Economic Cooperation Organization (D-8) and acknowledged Türkiye’s steadfast support for Azerbaijan’s membership.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan has consistently supported Türkiye on the Syrian issue since the outset, affirming its readiness to contribute to regional stability, security, and humanitarian efforts.
Ambassador Akgün assured that he would make every effort to further expand Azerbaijani-Turkish relations. He also made special mention of Azerbaijan’s significant victory in Karabakh, stating that during those historic moments, the hearts of the Turkish people beat in unison with those of Azerbaijanis.
