Ray Ban wearers can now make WhatsApp calls

Users of the Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Meta, can now make calls, listen to voice messages and send text messages using WhatsApp. 

For example, to send a text message, you will need to contact the assistant as follows: “Hey Facebook, send a message to Anna on WhatsApp” (Hey Facebook, message Anna on WhatsApp), wait for a response from AI, after which you can already dictate your message, US-based online newspaper Tech Crunch reports.   

Meta noted that users' messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted, which prevents WhatsApp, Meta and third parties from reading or listening to them.

At the moment, the innovation is available to English-speaking users, but in the future, it is planned to expand support for Ray-Ban Stories users who speak French and Italian.
