Rubio: US ahead of schedule in Iran war, end in sight
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States is achieving its military objectives in the war involving Iran faster than initially planned, echoing earlier remarks by President Donald Trump that the conflict could end within weeks.
Speaking in an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Rubio said US forces have largely destroyed Iran’s navy and air force and are making significant progress toward other key goals.
He stated that the United States is also moving toward destroying a “significant” share of Iran’s missile launchers, as well as eliminating the country’s missile and drone production facilities.
“We’re well on our way. We are on or ahead of schedule on each of those four objectives and we can see the finish line. It’s not today, it’s not tomorrow but it’s coming,” Rubio said.
He added: “We’re going to get to the point where our military will have achieved all of its objectives in this mission, and they are doing so with extraordinary efficiency.”
