Ukraine expects new prisoner exchange with Russia in coming days
A new prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia could take place within the next few days, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency.
Speaking during a meeting with students at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Budanov was asked whether he had any "red lines" when negotiating prisoner exchanges with Russia, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
"Tell me, please, does the value of human life exist for you or not?" Budanov asked.
After the student replied that human life is priceless, Budanov continued: "And if it is priceless, is there anything that can be disregarded?"
When the student answered, "No," Budanov responded: "Well, neither is there for me."
He then suggested another exchange could soon take place.
"God willing, you'll see an exchange in the coming days," he said.
Neither Budanov nor Ukrainian authorities provided further details about the potential exchange.
The most recent prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia took place on June 5 as part of a broader agreement involving the exchange of 1,000 prisoners from each side.
