Azerbaijan made inroads into the satellite services industry in 2013.

Back then the first telecommunication satellite of the country, dubbed Azerspace-1, was launched into orbit.

In 2018, Azerbaijan catapulted the second telecommunication satellite, known as Azerspace-2.

In addition to telecommunication services, the country launched satellite observation services after launching the Azersky satellite in 2018.
