Türkiye assesses amount of damaged grain at Derince port PHOTO
Some 20 per cent of the food stocks at the silo were damaged in the Derince port blast.
The talk is about 15,000 tons of reserves, not about 8 million tons.
According to Caliber.Az, the Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the Liaison Office of the Presidential Administration of Türkiye said this on its Twitter page.
TMO Derince Liman Silosunun toplam kapasitesi 95 bin tondur.

The total capacity of the port is 95,000 tons. The silo, where the explosion occurred, already contained 75,000 tons of supplies. According to preliminary estimates, about 20 per cent (about 15,000 tons) of this stock was damaged,” the statement reads.
The administration's statement also notes that the claims about the destruction of 8 million tons of stocks, which were previously circulated in a number of Turkish media, are wide off the mark.
The explosion in the port of Derince occurred on August 7, in the area of loading ships with grain in elevators belonging to the Turkish Grain Council.
