Tusk: Poland can't aid Kyiv at expense of its own defence capability
An agreement between Poland and Ukraine on security will be signed before the NATO summit in Washington from July 9 to 11, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced after the EU summit in Brussels.
"Our agreement is almost ready," Tusk said during a briefing, which was broadcast on social media by his office, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Tusk noted that some details still need to be finalized. He emphasized that Poland cannot assist Kyiv at the expense of its own defence capabilities, particularly concerning the supply of weapons such as fighter jets.
Tusk had previously communicated this limitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Poland has been a significant supporter of Ukraine since the onset of the conflict with Russia in 2014, and its aid has only increased since the escalation of hostilities in 2022.
