“We warmly welcomed the team from U.S. engineering consulting firm AECOM back to Armenia last week. The AECOM team and its Armenian government counterparts surveyed the TRIPP site for rail and other infrastructure development to support economic growth, connectivity, and regional integration,” the embassy wrote.
The TRIPP initiative was launched following a trilateral meeting in Washington on August 8, 2025, where US President Donald Trump, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration on a peace settlement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The agreement provided for the establishment of a transport corridor linking mainland Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan.
