Zelenskyy sacks all regional military commissars
In Ukraine, all regional military commissars will be fired. They will be replaced by military men who have passed the front or who cannot be in the trenches.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his address, RBC-Ukraine reports.
The president held a meeting of the National Security Council, where he heard reports from the State Bureau for Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor-General’s Office, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
“In total, there are already 112 criminal proceedings against officials of the `military commissariats’. 33 suspicions. Regional military commissars, city, district. Workers of the military medical commissions of Ukraine. Other officials. Abuses in different areas: Donetsk, Poltava, Vinnitsa, Odesa, Kyiv, Lviv. Someone took in cash, someone in cryptocurrency - unless that's the difference. Cynicism is the same everywhere,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, as a result of the meeting, it was decided to dismiss all regional military commissars. According to the president, military enlistment offices should be led by military men who have passed the front or who cannot be in the trenches because they have lost their health, lost limbs, but have retained their dignity and do not have cynicism.
“They can be trusted with this recruitment system. Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny should implement this decision. Before the appointment of new leaders of the Ukrainian recruitment center, there will be an inspection by the Security Service of Ukraine. Each "military commissar", in respect of which there is a criminal proceeding, will be held accountable. Quite fair,” the president said.
He also noted that those military commissars and officials who have epaulettes, but in respect of which no data on crimes or violations have been found, if they want to retain their rank and prove their dignity, they must go to the front.
“I emphasize: the army is not and will never be a substitute for criminal punishment. Officials who confused shoulder straps and benefits, for sure - are on trial,” he concluded.
