Azerbaijani Constitutional Court to consider results of presidential election soon

The plenary session of the Plenum of the Azerbaijani Constitutional Court on the issue of approval of the protocol of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on the results of Azerbaijan’s snap elections held on February 7, 2024, is scheduled for February 13 at 11:00, the court told APA.

The CEC summed up the results of the February 7, 2024, snap presidential elections, according to which Ilham Aliyev won, gaining 92.12 per cent of the votes cast in the polls.

The voter turnout in the elections was 76.43 per cent.

According to CEC, after the start of the election campaign, all legal opportunities and equal conditions were created for the 7 registered presidential candidates to freely convey their platforms to voters, and the subjects of the election campaign freely used these opportunities without any obstacles.

The pre-election environment was free and at a level that met modern requirements. The CEC invalidated the results of the presidential elections in several polling stations, and several precinct election commissions were dissolved.

All necessary measures were taken to conduct voting in accordance with the law, voters showed high activity. Through web cameras installed at 1,000 polling stations covering the entire geography of the republic, it was possible to observe in real time the progress of the elections on voting day.
