The first meeting of the ministers of internal affairs of OTS member countries took place on September 6 in Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Internal Affairs Vilayat Eyvazov, Kazakhstan's Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov, Türkiye's Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, Uzbekistan's Minister of Internal Affairs Pulat Bobojonov , and the Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev attended the meeting, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

In his address, the Secretary General of the OTS highlighted that the first meeting of the ministers of internal affairs of member states forms the foundation for a new platform that will operate on a regular basis and represents another step towards strengthening cooperation among Turkic states.

The participants discussed the efforts of their departments in tackling transnational organised crime, covering areas such as terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and cybercrime. They highlighted the crucial role of collaboration between law enforcement agencies within the OTS framework.

A Declaration was signed at the inaugural meeting of the OTS ministers of internal affairs, and it was agreed to hold the second meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) in Azerbaijan in 2025.
