Azerbaijan, ICRC discuss Baku-Yerevan peace process in New York

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Mirjana Spoljaric, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), have discussed the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a post on X that the meeting also addressed cooperation with the ICRC, Caliber.Az reports.

“The sides exchanged views on the current state of the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process, efforts to address the legacy of the former conflict, and the critical necessity of clarifying the fate of missing persons. Azerbaijan reaffirmed its commitment to international humanitarian law and humanitarian principles, emphasizing the importance of dialogue with the ICRC based on mutual interest,” the ministry wrote.
